Fuel scarcity is not our fault, Finance Minister says

Nigeria's Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Honourable Minister of Finance Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala
The Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has said that the current fuel scarcity plaguing the country is not the fault of the Federal Government.
Okonjo-Iweala added that pipeline vandalism and logistics were to blame for the long queues being witnessed in petrol stations around the country.

'Freeze nuclear activity for at least 10 years' - US president tells Iran


United States president, Barack Obama has called on Iran to freeze their nuclear activities for the next 10 years.
The Guardian UK reports that the president urged the nation to commit to a verifiable freeze of at least 10 years on its nuclear activity for a landmark atomic deal to be reached, but stated that the odds were still against sealing a final agreement.

President Goodluck Jonathan has said that he will not lose the upcoming general elections.
Jonathan stated this during an interview with Al-Jazeera’s Yvonne Ndege in Lagos on Sunday, March 1.
“I will not lose the elections,” the President said when asked if he wasn’t afraid of suffering defeat at the polls.
Jonathan however expressed fears that political violence might erupt during the conduct of the elections.

Man kills 2 sons, sends photos of baby hanging by rope to their mom

Gabriel Armandriz killed his own sons to get back at their mother.
A 32-year-old Texas man, Gabriel Armandariz, has been arrested for strangling his two sons to death and sending their mom the disturbing pictures.
New York Daily News reports that Armandariz killed his two boys, 8-months and 2-years respectively, and hid their bodies in his house.

Outgoing Namibian President Hifikepunye Pohamba has been announced as the winner of the Mo Ibrahim award for African leadership. Pohamba was announced as the winner of the award at a ceremony held in Nairobi yesterday.
The award ($5m) is usually given out by the foundation of Mohamed "Mo" Ibrahim, a Sudanese-British former mobile communications entrepreneur and billionaire.

A woman who's not mentally stable has been stranded with a baby opposite Federal Palace Hotel, on Ahmadu Bello Way, Lagos for quite a while now. From the photos, this child's gender cannot be confirmed but looks newly born.

According to the source who reached out to OBB and sent in the photos, the woman, who's probably not aware of her actions, exposes this baby to all forms of weather conditions, day and night. They fear that the child might not survive these harsh exposure if this continues. So here's calling on the relevant government agencies or those in charge of social welfare, child services or even appropriate NGOs to please respond on time in order to save both the mother and child whose place of residence is on the road all day long. The green Woodpecker takes off to try to shake off its attacker. The photographer says the Woodpecker survived the confrontation and the Weasel ran off into the long grass.
