In another dramatic raid, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Oyo/Osun Command, has seized 9,000 bags of imported rice in a warehouse in a market in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The Controller, Temitope Ogunkua, who vowed to stop illegal importation of goods, said during the night raid of the warehouse in an undisclosed Ibadan market, one suspect was arrested.

Two Chinese have been arrested for their involvement in the importation of fake and substandard tyres worth N5 billion into the country

MessrsTaolung Shen and Xu Jing Yao were arrested and their company Sino Nigeria Import and Export Limited’s warehouse in Lagos sealed by the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON).

Director-General of SON Osita Aboloma,  showed reporters round the warehouse at Alakija area on Badagry Road in Lagos at the weekend, said they also cloned different sizes of tyres under renowned brand names and many of the tyres arrived in Nigeria stuffed into one another leaving them bent and ruptured.He said

No Nigerian died in South African xenophobic attacks – Nigerian govt

The Federal Government has said no Nigerian died during the recent xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

This was revealed after a meeting between the Minister of State Foreign Affairs, Khadija Abba-Ibrahim, in Abuja and the High Commissioner of South Africa to Nigeria, Lulu Aaron-Mnguni, on the issue.
Nigerian buildings, properties and places of worship worth millions of dollars were destroyed by South Africans on February 5 and 18. After which the Ministry on Monday, February 20, summoned the South Africa High Commissioner over the matter.

Chidi Opara, a 300-level student of Imo State University (IMSU), was shot dead a suspected cult member by 10pm on Wednesday, after he had a faceoff with him at Bishop Court Area (IMSU backgate) of the school.
The cultist allegedly tried snatching the 24-year-old Economics student's phone, but when he
resisted this, he got shot instead. The body of the deceased has been deposited in the mortuary, as Police are already conducting an investigation into the murder case.

Witches Plan To Cast Mass Spell Against Donald Trump

EFCC arrests two undergraduates for N10m fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today, February 23rd, 2017, arraigned the duo of Aneke Collins Nnamdi and Sifon Samuel Israel both student of Federal Polytechnics, Oko, Anambra before Justice Theophine U. Oguji of the State High Court sitting in Awka, Anambra State, on a four count charge bordering on Conspiracy and Stealing.

Nigeria students to south Africans: Vacate from Nigeria before 48 hrs

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has given 48 hours ultimatum to all South African companies in Nigeria to relocate over the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.

 The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has recovered seventeen exotic vehicles in a warehouse of the former Comptroller General of Customs, Abdullahi Dikko Inde located at Nnamdi Azikwe Street, Kaduna.
The recovery was sequel to an intelligence the commission received that stolen money and properties suspected to proceeds of crime were being stored in the warehouse. Upon receipt of the intelligence, a team of operatives from the Kano Zonal Office were deployed to carry out the investigation.

Man Rapes His Sister-In Law

A vulcanizer, Wasiu Ibrahim, 35, was on Wednesday brought before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly raping his sister-in-law.

Father Dumps 4-Year Old Daughter's Corpse In Canal

A father of nine children, Adekunle Adewusi, on Tuesday appeared before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly disposing his child’s remains inside a canal.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Kehinde Omisakin, told the court that the 49-year-old father of No. 25, Folorunaho Kuku Str, Opebi, Ikeja committed the offences on February 7 at about 10. 00 p.m.
Omisakin said that the corpse of the four-year-old Rachel was found inside a canal close to the residence of the accused.

Driver Jailed Seven Years For Raping 80-Year-Old Woman

An Ekiti State High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti has sentenced a 45-year-old commercial driver, Lawrence Adedapo, to seven years imprisonment for raping 80-year-old women, Mrs. Grace Asaolu.
Justice Bamidele Omotoso who convicted Adedapo held that evidence before the court showed that the driver forcefully had a carnal knowledge of the old woman and was guilty as charged.

65,000 Christians Begin Fasting & Prayer For Buhari

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) says about 65,000 of its members in Katsina State, have begun seven-day fasting and prayers for the quick recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Rev. Nelson Onyeka Chukwu, CAN Chairman in the state, who disclosed this to journalists on Monday in Katsina, said that the prayers would be offered at Mountain of Fire Church at Kofar-Kaura, Katsina and in six other Churches.

I was richer than RCCG as lecturer – Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, (worldwide) Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has revealed that he was richer than the church as a university lecturer back then.

The soft-spoken preacher, who took over the ministry following the demise of its founder, Pa Josiah Akindayomi, said the church’s total income then was about half of his salary as university lecturer.
Ministering during a three-day special programme to end the church’s 40-day fasting and prayer period at the Redemption Camp, Kilometre 46, Lagos Ibadan Expressway, Adeboye said the ministry
was not financially buoyant before he came on board.

Court orders Police to pay N20m for assaulting lawyer

An Owerri High Court has awarded N20 million as damage against the police for assaulting an Owerri lawyer, Chukwuemeka Amaghiro, last year.

In his judgment, Justice K.A. Orjiako said the respondents were found guilty of gross violation of the applicant’s right.

Amaghiro in 2016 filed a suit of violation of his right against the Police Service Commission, Nigeria Police, Commissioner of Police in Imo State and the OC D8 SARS Investigative Police Officer, Bassey Ikpa, for assaulting him.

Man arrested after cctv captures him beating girlfriend's son 62 times

A man was charged with child abuse after investigators said he hit a 7-year-old boy 62 times within five minutes in Acres Homes.
The incident was reported at 5 p.m. Thursday at an illegal dumping site near the man's apartment in northwest Houston.
"He saw a vehicle pull up at one of our illegal dumping sites and saw a man get out of a car and take a young child out of the car and proceed to just beat him senselessly,” said Constable Alan Rosen with Harris County Precinct 1 Constable's Office.
